Branding and Creative Direction
We were approached by talented baker; Caya to create a new brand identity for “Crumbs”. Based in Dartmouth she wanted to set up her new business with a strong and non-cliche logo and brand.
Caya was keen from the get-go to work with us to develop her ideas and business, but also to hear our input and creative direction. We all agreed that icons, doodles and vectors of cakes for the logo were out of the question as these were over-used in the industry. Instead we used hand-drawn lettering, based on photos from hand-painted signage at markets, old-buildings and vintage confectionary packaging.
“we used hand-drawn lettering, based on photos from hand-painted signage at markets…”
Paired with colours charmingly lifted from a mint icing colours, the resulting logo felt unique and definitely hand-made, whilst minimalist and clean enough to result in a timeless brand identity whether her new business stays small and local or takes off on a bigger scale!
